The purpose of CelesteTheTherapist is to help shift the way you think. Many times, we get stuck in a negative cycle and struggle with getting out. Celeste will interview guests from different backgrounds who empower people in different capacities.

This episode, Celeste and contemporary artist Brejanee, talks about the series of food-related mental health disorders and its causes. The session focuses on her journey in understanding these diseases from a young age unto the years of seeking professional help. 

Similar to drug addiction, the need to control the pain may be one of the causes of several eating food-related and eating disorders. Brejanee [breez-juh-nay] is a contemporary artist specializing in sculpting, painting, and filmmaking to create meaningful works of art on the topics of mental health, social justice, and spirituality. She also uses her personal lived experience with anxiety, depression, and a severe eating disorder to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health- particularly in the Black community. In addition to art, she's also achieved this with her book of peer-based mental health pep talks, a mental health themed clothing line, and by regularly using her large tiktok platform to share her story.
